Technical Application Support Specialist

We have an opening for a Technical Application Support Specialist to join a fast-paced, global and industry leading company, who champion environmental sustainability at the heart of their operations.

As Technical Application Support Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting and developing SharePoint systems, maintaining the existing divisional SharePoint application, undertaking new developments and migrations to further the business objectives.

The role has a work from home structure, with infrequent site visits to Hereford.

 

What you’ll be getting up to

  • Second- and third-line support of the SharePoint service, resolving calls within SLA and dealing with Incidents and Enhancements when they arise.
  • Maintaining the existing divisional SharePoint application and undertake new developments and migrations.
  • Working closely with the Technical Development Team Leader and Power Platform Specialist to plan, schedule and monitor own work in order to meet business needs.
  • Analysing and documenting the requirements of users.
  • Training Users on SharePoint.
  • Working closely with Group IT on our shared tenancy
  • Working closely with Service Desk to transition SharePoint Processes
  • Working closely with the Change Manager to ensure that Change control is adhered to when making SP changes.
  • Designing and configuring solutions to meet users’ requirements.
  • Supporting new and existing systems both in person and via the telephone.
  • Documenting systems using required standards, methods, and tools so that they can be supported by other members of the team.
  • Providing advice and guidance and training to end-users on the effective use of existing systems.

 

What you can bring to the role

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint 365 including experience of permission management, document and template management and page editing.
  • Experience of SharePoint 365 and migration from older versions to SharePoint 365.
  • SharePoint Central Administration and SharePoint Designer, and knowledge of site creation and upkeep.
  • SharePoint client-side development, including integration of client-side code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript.) Desirable skills include a basic knowledge of C#, SQL and experience of building SharePoint workflows.
