Solutions Architect

A people focused organisation with customers at the heart of everything they do have an opening in their Architect function for a Solutions Architect.

They are undergoing an exciting digital transformation and have a varied and colourful project pipeline to get stuck into.

You’ll play a pivotal role in the team to support the implementation of quality IT solutions that create business opportunities and maximise business benefits through careful optimisation of system, business process (including continuous improvement) and management information changes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the New Request process by researching and recommending pragmatic technical solutions; highlighting any technical considerations for solution delivery.
  • Support the Project Delivery process by working on a range of IT and business initiatives to deliver solutions to meet the business opportunities.
  • Working with all areas of IT, the strategy & transformation team and business, to research IT solutions on the market for technical requirements and business needs.
  • Creating and updating the solution and technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and up-coming vendor products and solutions.
  • Creating the Data Architecture relevant to the product being selected and understanding the relationships between the data and the processes and architecting that to meet Security and GDPR requirements.
  • Developing policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development implementation and use of IT within the organisation

What you can bring:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification or experience. TOGAF accreditation would be an advantage.
  • Significant experience of providing the technical lead for major technology implementations.
  • Experience in third party supplier management.
  • Experience of working within a framework of IT Governance, Technical Design Authority and Change Advisory Boards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, applications and system engineering.
  • Ability to process information quickly and accurately and work independently to propose solutions to problems.
  • Great commercial acumen with a creative problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to find effective technology solutions to business problems.
