Founding AI Engineer – Healthcare Startup (Hybrid, Austin, TX)

Salary: $150K – $180K

As our Founding AI Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our AI-driven platform, leading innovation in LLM-powered automation, human-AI interaction, and real-time data processing.

What You’ll Do:

• Design novel LLM techniques to expand the complexity of healthcare use cases and data streams our platform can handle.
• Monitor and optimize AI agents in production, running experiments to improve performance and reliability in critical healthcare workflows.
• Create cutting-edge AI ? human interfaces for data processing agents, pioneering UX solutions for AI-powered healthcare automation.
• Own and drive key AI engineering decisions as a core founding team member, shaping both the product and company direction.
• Work directly with the CEO, CTO, and founding team to scale the AI/ML function and hire top-tier talent.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience with LLMs & NLP (transformers, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering).
• Hands-on ML/AI experience in a production setting, ideally in healthcare, medtech, or life sciences.
• Strong knowledge of Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate).
• Experience building scalable AI-driven platforms with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Passion for startups, purpose-driven innovation, and giving back—you thrive in ambiguity and want to build something meaningful.
